Twine bell ornament

You will need:

  • twine or jute, ribbon or raffia, 1 jingle bell
  • lightbulb
  • white glue, glue brush, wax paper, scissors

How to make:

  1. Wrap the lightbulb with wax paper to protect it from glue. From the top, start neatly wrapping the lightbulb with twine, placing the coils next to each other, until you reach the widest part of the bulb.
  2. Generously apply white glue to the already wrapped part and start wrapping upwards until you reach the very top. Leave a small opening for the hanging loop to go through. Let dry.
  3. Cut the twine close to the bell top. Carefully take the bell off the lightbulb. Some bits of wax paper might stick to the inside of the bell, they can be taken off quite easly.
  4. Put a jingle bell on a piece of twine, tie a bulky knot about 2'' above the jingle bell. Thread the loose ends through the opening in the twine bell's top. Pull all the way up and tie another bulky knot. Tie the two ends to make a loop for hanging. Trim the ends.
  5. Make a raffia or ribbon bow and attach with tacky glue or hot glue.
